Team Bondi Officially Liquidated

image

The inalterable drapery has fallen happening L.A. Noire studio Team Bondi.

It ain't complete 'til it's over, as the saying goes, and now it appears to finally beryllium over for Team Bondi, which was pronounced efficaciously dead back in crude August but has only just now had the official fork stuck in it. The company was put into administration a month ago and yesterday appointed a liquidator to wind up the operation. Whatever Team Bondi assets continue will be oversubscribed off, with the yield put toward defrayment of the company's outstanding debts.

Team up Bondi has not yet issued a statement on the situation but it's a sad fall for a studio apartment that at one betoken employed more than 100 workers and put out the acclaimed L.A. Noire to a lesser degree cardinal months agone. The game racked up nearly 900,000 sales in its prototypic calendar month of release, not exactly nail-tally territory but hush up same respectable, and became the "fastest-selling new videogame IP e'er" in the U.K. Near the end of June, Take-Two proclaimed that L.A. Noire had shipped four 1000000 copies international. It's a deceiving metric – "shipped" isn't "sold," later on all – but the publisher has described the game equally a "effective new franchise" and a sequel is expected.

On the downside, truckloads of money were reportedly wasted on the project and complaints about unpleasant working conditions at Squad Bondi and the behavior of studio head Brendan McNamara are recovered-documented, leaving Rockstar with no interest in publishing its next crippled. That's a troublesome situation for any studio to exist in.

As expected, well-nig or all Team Bondi employees have been offered positions at Jack Kennedy-Miller Mitchell, an Australian production company with credits ranging from Harebrained Scoop to Happy Feet 2.
